Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Redf Oak, Iowa Ray Figley, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society. Ray was born April 8, 1942 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Harold and Evelyn (Breeding) Figley. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1961 and attended trade school in Kansas City, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Elaine Ess and four children were born to this union: Gary, Trent, Jeff, and Eric. He worked for Western Electric in Kansas City then Lees Summit Fire Department where he was Assistant Chief. He also drove a truck part time. After the Fire Department, Ray worked for KAW Transport in Pleasant Valley, MO, Associated Grocers, ATC in Liberty, MO, and retired from 4MTJ in Kansas City. Ray was united in marriage to LaDonna Peterson on August 12, 1995 in Red Oak, Iowa. They moved to Camdenton, Missouri in 2007 and Red Oak, Iowa in 2011. Ray was a member of the Community Christian Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant son: Gary. Survivors include his wife: LaDonna Figley of Red Oak, IA; children: Trent Figley and wife Michelle of Pleasant Hill, MO; Jeff Figley and wife Heather of Clark, MO; Eric Figley and wife Heather M. of Independence, MO; Jeff Bullington of Minneapolis, MN; and Greg Bullington and wife Danna of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren: Jake Figley of Pleasant Hill, MO; Elizabeth, Alyssa, and Madison Figley of Clark, MO; Erica Figley of Independence, MO; and Abigail and Mitchell Bullington of Cheyenne, WY; brother: Jack Figley and wife Connie of Ankeny, IA;nephews: Todd Figley and wife Dottie and family of Ankeny; niece: Ginger Figley Miller of Ankeny, IA; sisters-in-law: Charlene Helm of Council Bluffs, IA and Barb Wilmeth and husband Dave of Creston, IA; brother-in-law: Art Peterson of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Faith Community Church with Pastor David MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Lees Summit, Missouri Cemetery at a time to be announced. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Faith Community Church, or the Good Samaritan Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
