Birthplace: Nodaway, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, Iowa Pearl Maxine Anderson, age 81, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an extended illness. Pearl Maxine Anderson was born December 8, 1927 in Nodaway, Iowa the daughter of Merle Harvey and Lillian Mae (Casebolt) Chubick. She was raised in the Nodaway and Villisca, Iowa areas. She was united in marriage to Wayne R. Anderson on July 10, 1946 in Stanton, Iowa. They lived all over southwest Iowa where they farmed. They bought their first farm near Sharpsburg, Iowa in 1970. They later moved to Corning in 1976 and Bedford in 1979 before making their home in Stanton, Iowa in 1988. Wayne preceded Pearl in death on July 11, 1989. Over the years Pearl worked in the health care field, including home health for Taylor and Montgomery Counties and also worked at the Corning Hospital and Red Oak Rehab and Care Center. She was a member of the Nishna Church of Christ and her neighborhood club. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, baking, reading, her flowers, and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren. While in her later years, Pearl enjoyed the company of Walter "Gordon" Bennett, who preceded her in death last year. Also preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Wayne Anderson; son: Delaine "Bud" Anderson on April 14, 2009; siblings: Lola, Della, Clara, "Peggy", Wilma, and Harvey; and two great grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Sharon Caldwell-Abbott and husband Dan of Casey, Iowa; Darlene Helm and husband Sam of Red Oak, Iowa; Shirley Slemp and husband David of Shenandoah, Iowa; and Amelia "Millie" Anderson and her companion, Clarence Duckett, Sr. of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Peggy Anderson of Henderson, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister: Lois "Sally" Lynam of Nodaway, Iowa; brother: Otis Chubick and wife Judy of Nodaway, Iowa; sister-in-law: Amy Burrington of Tabor, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allan Bridges officiating. Burial will be in the Mamre Cemetery at Stanton, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 - 8 PM Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. A memorial fund is being established in Pearl's name. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
