Pauline B. "Polly" Allen, age 93, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak, Iowa. Polly was born May 3, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Bernard and Pauline Eleanor (Frederick) Spindler. She was united in marriage to Gordon Allen on January 29, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska. They lived in many places throughout their life including Omaha, Nebraska, Silver City, Iowa, where they owned a café, and Emerson, Iowa on the farm before Polly moved into Emerson. Most recently she had been a resident of Good Samaritan Society of Red Oak, Iowa.

Polly was a member of the Emerson Baptist Church for many years, Mission and Aid, and the Senior Citizens of Emerson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Gordon; son: David; sisters: Clara and Beatrice; and brother: Bernard. Survivors include her daughters: Georgine Hogan and husband Ray of Omaha, NE; and Catherine Engquist and husband Dennis of Brookfield, MO; grandchildren: Erin Grace and husband Jason of Omaha, NE; Heather Scholting and husband Thomas of Elkhorn, NE; and Kristen Schnetzler and husband Daniel of Leawood, KS; great grandchildren: Lars, Xavier, Asa, and Hermann Schnetzler; and Ellie and Addie Scholting; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Emerson Cemetery in Emerson, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Open Door Mission.
