Birthplace: Pottawattamie County, Iowa Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Paul Woods, age 90, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Saturday, November 17, 2001 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Paul Russell Woods was born December 22, 1910 on a farm in Pottawattamie County, Iowa the son of Ernest and Dora (Jones) Woods. Paul's family moved to Montgomery County when he was very young. He attended the Wales School and quit after his father's death in 1926 so he could farm. Paul was united in marriage to Charlotte Lembke on December 22, 1936 in Shelby, Iowa. They lived in Stanton for several years before moving back to the Wales area. They have lived on the same farm for 58 years. Paul was a member of the Wales Presbyterian Church where he had been a trustee and a member of the session board. He was also a 4-H leader and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 4 brothers: Cline, Gene, Morris, and Duane. Survivors include his wife: Charlotte Woods of Emerson, Iowa; 2 sons: Gary Woods and his wife Donnice of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Jerry Woods and his wife Dianne of Urbandale, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Todd Woods and his wife Natalie of Washington, D.C.; Stacy Woods of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Tyler Woods of Appleton, Wisconsin; Tony Woods of Urbandale, Iowa; and Brandon Woods of Urbandale, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at the Wales Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Gomer Cemetery at Wales, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Wales Presbyterian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
