Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Patricia Anne "Mom" Smith, age 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Pat was born September 22, 1930 in Red Oak, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Dain F. Smith on July 11, 1951 in New London, Connecticut. Dain was in the military and later drove a truck. They lived many different place throughout the United States. Pat moved back to Red Oak many years ago. She was a homemaker. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Dain in 1988; and son: Michael in 1978. Survivors include her son: Terry Smith and partner Darlene Helm of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Cindy Lorenz and husband Michael of Roseburg, OR; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters: Phyllis McWhirtier and husband Larry of Oklahoma and Lois Shedenhelm of Wisconsin and many other relative and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
