Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Bellevue, Nebraska formerly Maryville, Missouri Patricia Sue Gohlinghorst Seipel, age 60, of Maryville, Missouri formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at her sister's residence in Omaha, Nebraska. Patricia "Patty" Gohlinghorst was born November 30, 1952 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of David G. and Phyllis (Watt) Gohlinghorst. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1971 and was united in marriage to Randy Vanderhoof on July 16, 1971. Two children were born to this union: Chad and Angie. She later was united in marriage to John Seipel on April 12, 1980. Two children were born to this union: Megan and Josh. Patty lived most of her adult life in Maryville, Missouri. She started working at the Hitching Post Restaurant and in 1986 owned and operated The Power Station until 1991. She attended and earned her beautician's license from Caster's Beauty School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a stylist for several different salons before opening her own shop, Salon Advantage in 2000. She moved to Kansas City in 2004, where she managed salons from Oklahoma to Kansas City for a chain called Snip 'N Clip. Later she became salon manager at John Knox Village at Lee's Summit, Missouri. She moved back to Maryville for a short time and about a year ago moved to Bellevue, Nebraska to be near her sister, Debbie. Patty was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her children: Chad Vanderhoof and wife Lori of Red Oak, IA; Angela Vanderhoof of Red Oak, IA; Megan Lee of Liberty, MO; and Josh Seipel of Liberty, MO; grandchildren: Nicole Hughes and husband Bill; Cameron and Randi Jo Vanderhoof; Savanna Abraham; Josie Vanderhoof; and Alex Adolphson, all of Red Oak, IA ; and Jackson Lee of Liberty, MO; great grandchildren: Brody and Bentley Hughes of Red Oak, IA; brothers and sisters: David Lee Gohlinghorst and wife Charlene of Red Oak, IA; Debbie Dudzinski and husband Wally of Omaha, NE; Don Gohlinghorst and wife Mary and Phil Gohlinghorst and wife Patsy of Red Oak, IA; and Peggy Rasmussen and husband Layne of Johnston, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Faith Community Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Faith Community Church. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
