Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Patricia A. Holm, age 71, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at her home after an extended illness. Patricia Ann Holm was born July 13, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Ernest and Nora (Bovenizer) Tuohey. She was raised in Chicago and was united in marriage to Don Holm on August 24, 1957 in Iuka, Mississippi. They made Chicago their home for 9 years where Pat worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company before moving to Red Oak, Iowa in 1966. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company before going to work for Eveready Battery Company. She worked there for 17 years and most recently had been employed in the Dietary Department at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She served as Historian/Recorder and Treasurer. She loved gardening and flowers as well as watching birds. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: John Tuohey; brothers-in-law: Herald Kahrs and wife Harriett and Harold Holm and wife Mary. Survivors include her husband: Don Holm of Red Oak, IA; children: Donna Krings and husband Tom, Sr. of Fullerton, NE; Don Holm, Jr. and wife Teresa of Union Grove, WI; and Kelly Waters and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Sarah Holthe and husband Matt of York, NE; Tom Krings, Jr. and fiancée Kelly Spencer of Omaha, NE; David Holm and wife Karin of Lititz, PA; Melissa Holm of Union Grove, WI; Aaron Waters and fiancée Dawn Weakley of Chambersburg, PA; Megan Waters and fiancé Justin Roenfeld of Lincoln, NE; and Tammy Waters of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Luke and Rachel Holthe; brother: Ernest Tuohey and wife Lenore of Arizona; sister: Nora Russell of Texas; sisters-in-law: Ellen Akert and husband Ken of Roselle, IL and Nancy Gierthy and husband Ron of Vernon Hills, IL; many nieces and nephews including Bonnie Karani and husband Hoshang of Lake Forest, IL and Irene Moore and husband Don of Council Bluffs, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, May 13, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Hawthorne United Methodist Church, the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, or the American Cancer Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
