Obituary

Birthplace: Saronville, Nebraska Resided In: Clarinda, Iowa Warren "Pat" Dedrickson, age 83, of Clarinda, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the Cox Health System South Facility in Springfield, Missouri. Warren L. "Pat" Dedrickson was born September 29, 1921 in Saronville, Nebraska the son of M.J. and Esther (Nelson) Dedrickson. He was raised in Nebraska graduating from the Clay Center High School. Pat moved to Red Oak in 1939 and was united in marriage to Gladys Abraham on October 17, 1943. He served his country during WWII in the United States Air Force. Pat farmed throughout the years as well as working for the Nelson Dairy until going to work for the United States Postal service as a rural mail carrier. He retired in 1986 after 20 years of service. Pat was a member of the First Covenant Church where he was a former trustee and financial secretary. He was also a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife: Gladys Dedrickson of Clarinda, Iowa; 4 sons: Ardie Dedrickson of Omaha, Nebraska; Randy Dedrickson of St. Joseph, Missouri; Roger Dedrickson of Omaha, Nebraska; and Rick Dedrickson of Red Oak, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother: Verne Dedrickson of Clay Center, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the First Covenant Church with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Covenant Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
