September 7, 1944 – March 31, 2025
Pamela Rae "Pam" Towne, age 80, of Henderson, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Pam was born on September 7, 1944, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and V. Pearl (Perdue) Brown. Her dad was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge. Several years later, her mother married Charles Seeley of Griswold, Iowa. The second of three children, Pam grew up in Griswold where she attended the Griswold Public School from Kindergarten through the 12th grade, graduating in 1962. The following fall, she attended Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, where she majored in Home Economics. Pam was affiliated with the Delta Delta Sorority. She graduated with a BA degree in 1966. The best day of her life was when Jerry Towne returned home from Vietnam, and they were married on August 16, 1966, at Griswold Church of Christ. Jerry had started a partnership with Roger Jackson and his parents in Henderson, so they began their married life and raised three children there: Brian, Matthew, and Mary. She enjoyed many activities they were in through the years including 4-H, sports, and music. Pam was a member of the Wesley Chapel Church where she was a faithful servant for many years, and she also served as an election official. Pam enjoyed spending time with friends bowling and playing Bridge. She loved auctions and sporting events. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family of wonderful grandkids and taking special vacations to Custer State Park with them. Pam enjoyed music and "Brain" games. She was also known to be a caregiver to loving and appreciative family members.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brother: David Brown; other family members; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
