Birthplace: Clarinda, IA Resided In: Stanton, IA Orville A. "Butch" Semmons, age 74, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Orville Alexander "Butch" Semmons was born July 24, 1938 in Clarinda, Iowa the son of Floyd and Bonnie (Dailey) Semmons. After school, Butch started farming and later worked for a meat locker in Shenandoah. He drove a truck for Harcros Chemical for 30 years out of Omaha. He moved to Montgomery County 22 years ago and was united in marriage to Beverly Sexton on July 6, 1993 in Red Oak, Iowa. They have made their home near Stanton, Iowa for the past 20 years. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harvey and Leola Sexton; 3 brothers-in-law; 2 sisters-in-law; and 2 nephews. Survivors include his wife: Beverly of Stanton, Iowa; children: Donna Semmons of Denver, CO; Katy Adams and husband Keith of Omaha, NE; Chad Murren and wife Amy of Villisca, IA; and Casey Thompson and wife Lisa of Imogene, IA; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandsons; sisters: Norma Orme of Northboro, IA; Elma Semmons of Shenandoah, IA; Sue Stanley and husband Jerry of Denver, CO; and Dee Petty and husband Larry of Denver, CO; brothers: John Semmons and wife Rita of Imogene, IA and Bill Semmons and wife Candie of Aurora, CO; sister-in-law: Stella Govig and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Private graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1-3 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at their home near Stanton, Iowa. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
