Birthplace: Rural Elliott, Iowa Resided In: Rural Elliott, Iowa Orville Luther Fast, the son of Floyd and Mary (Mitchell) Fast was born November 30, 1925 near Morton's Mill, Iowa. Orville passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Villisca, Iowa at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 24 days. Orville farmed and lived in the rural Morton's Mill, IA area his entire life. He was united in marriage to Mary Margaret (Peggy) Cozad on January 15, 1946. To this union seven children were born: Cathi, Larry, Doug, Debbie, Rich, Chuck and Sherri. Orville was known by many as: husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and a friend to many in his rural community. Orville had two loves - his family and farming. He especially enjoyed family get-togethers and reunions and visits with neighbors and friends. He always found time to stop from his work to make time for those special visits when someone stopped by and attend activities that his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids participated in. Orville had a deep appreciation and respect for farming the land, raising cattle and living in a rural community, and he passed that same appreciation to his children and grandchildren. Orville was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Hall; brothers, Clark and Wayne Fast; sister-in-law, Mildred Marsden and Betty Fast; brothers-in-law, Gerry Hall, Robert Watts, Bill Cozad and Ray Marsden. Orville will be missed by all who knew him. Orville is survived by; his wife, Peggy; his seven children, Cathi (Darrel) Fulton of rural Villisca, IA; Larry (Norma) Fast or rural Nodaway, IA; Doug (Mary) Fast of Omaha, NE; Debby (Jim) Kenworthy of Seneca, SC; Rich (Kay) Fast of rural Villisca, IA; Chuck (Mary Beth) Fast of rural Elliott, IA; and Sherri (Mike) Slobodnik of Bloomington, MN; twenty grandchildren - Jodi (Steve) Haer, Shona (Clint) Means, Kadee (Shane) Myers, Laci (Brian) Schafer, Scott (Julie) Fast, Lori (Pat) Waymire, Adam (Kari) Fast, Luke, (Kim) Fast, Cara (Adam) Estes, Elliott Fast, Sarah Kenworthy, Brian Kenworthy, Dustin (Kristin) Fast, Trisha (Scott) Owen, Ashley Fast, Lauren Fast, Collin Fast, Michael Slobodnik, Paula (Markus) Larsen and Karen (Andrew) Cottingham; twenty-nine great grandchildren; sisters, Janice (Stan) Peterson of Stanton, IA, Joan Watts of Villisca, IA and Mary (Mons) Roll of Colorado Springs, CO; and sisters-in-law, Pat Fast of Lincoln, NE and Margaret Cozad of Red Oak, IA. May God bless his memory and give strength to those mourn. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the United Methodist Church in Villisca or Villisca Swimming Pool.
