Birthplace: Port Huron, MI Resided In: Red Oak, IA Norman Lee Rebitzke, age 73, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Norman was born July 9, 1941 in Port Huron, Michigan the son of Harold and Bertha (Duckworth) Rebitzke. He graduated from Port Huron High School and entered the United States Navy. After his enlistment he returned home to work at a hospital in Michigan. He then entered the United States Air Force and retired after 20 plus years of service. He was united in marriage to Judy Baker on December 16, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska. Over Norman's military career they lived in Omaha, California, Missouri, Guam, Las Vegas, Alaska and after retirement made their home in Red Oak, Iowa. He worked for Wilson Concrete in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Norman attended First Baptist Church, enjoyed woodworking and always managed to have a good time in life. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers: Donald and Kenneth Rebitzke. Survivors include his wife: Judy Rebitzke of Red Oak; children: Brenda Rebitzke of Anchorage, AK; Wendie Rebitzke of Red Oak; and Peter Rebitzke and wife Karan of Owasso, OK; grandson: Connor Rebitzke of Owasso, OK; sister: Alice Rawley of Port Huron, MI; sisters-in-law: Marie Baker of Red Oak; and Laura Jean Adams of Onalaska, WI; brothers-in-law: Jack Baker and wife Rosalie of Davenport, IA and Rodney Baker and wife Judy of Kelso, WA; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Len Taylor officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be held 1 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca, Iowa with military honors. Memorials may be directed to the family of Norman Rebitzke. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
