Norma Jean Tichy, age 82, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away, Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society. Norma was born November 7, 1941, in Iowa, the daughter of Ephraim and Eva Gladys (Whitney) Foreman. She was raised in Red Oak where she lived most of her life. She attended school at Red Oak Community Schools and was a Nurses Aid for many years. Over the years, she worked at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Good Samaritan Society, and she cleaned houses and offices for many clients. Norma was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed crafting, spending time with her grandkids, collecting butterflies, and studying vitamins and minerals.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sons: Steven Mutchler and Rick Mutchler; and grandson: Nicholas Mutchler. Survivors include her children: Theresa Scanlan of Red Oak, IA; Jeff Mutchler and wife Loraine of Texas; and Tim Tichy and wife Angela of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Michael "PJ" Scanlan of Red Oak, IA; Sunshine Bartlett of North Carolina; Stephen Mutchler and wife Ruby of Texas; and Cory Nelson of Missouri; great grandchildren: Alex, Emilie, Daniel, Christopher, Tyler, Joshua, Sophia, Liam, Max, and Liam; great great grandchild: Willow; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel at 1995 G Ave. in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:30 – 6:30 PM Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
