Birthplace: Rural Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Omaha, NE formerly Red Oak, IA Milo E. Sederburg, age 93, of Omaha, Nebraska formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at his home in Omaha, Nebraska. Milo Elton Sederburg was born April 30, 1918 on a farm near Red Oak, Iowa the son of Sven Edward William and Hilma Elenora (Wenstrand) Sederburg. He attended country school at Pleasant Lawn School. After school, he began his farming career. Milo was united in marriage to Blanche Shaffer on December 9, 1944 in Red Oak, Iowa. They moved to Elliott, Iowa where they continued to farm until 1966 when they moved to Red Oak. Milo went to work for V & M Construction and later McCunn Construction retiring in 1981. He continued to do odd carpentry jobs in the community for many years. Milo was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, the Red Oak Lions Club, and enjoyed many years of woodworking and carpentry work. He also treasured his time spent with family, especially the grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings: Nora Palmquist; Myrtle Peterson; Harry Sederburg; Edward Sederburg; Marion Sederburg; Lyle Sederburg; Ervin Sederburg; Hilmer Sederburg; and infant Doris Sederburg. Survivors include his wife: Blanche Sederburg of Omaha, NE; children: Virginia Ploeger and husband Gary of Dumont, IA; Betty Jane Johansen and husband Woody of Omaha, NE; Linda Myers and husband Howard of Omaha, NE; and James Sederburg and wife Joyce of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Michael Ploeger (Fay); Steven Ploeger; Trenton Ploeger (Kristi); Matthew Ploeger (Jennifer); David Craft (Lori); Sharon Martin (Terry); Robin Swanson (Kelly); Ron Johansen; Randy Myers (Emily); Denise Ellis (Michael); Jennifer Bishop (Tim); Julie Boelter (Bryan); and Jason Sederburg; 19 great grandchildren; 9 step-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Bertha Sederburg of Stanton, IA; Doris Towne of Corning, IA; Ruby Lister of Red Oak, IA; and Merle Jean Shaffer of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
