Obituary

Milford Eugene Friesen, age 83, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Milford was born March 21, 1938, in Henderson, Nebraska, the son of Klaus and Bertha (Mierau) Friesen. He was raised in Henderson and graduated from Henderson High School. He attended Grace Bible Institute and University of Nebraska at Lincoln before serving in the United States Marines. Milford worked in the construction business and upon his return from service he started his own construction company. He then sold grain bins and Nachurs Fertilizer until moving to Litchfield, Nebraska where he and his brothers farmed. Milford was united in marriage to Jean DeBolt on December 8, 1984 in Henderson, Nebraska. They moved to Douglas, Nebraska in 1994. Milford designed and patented a tool bar and he was still operating that business today. His hobbies included model trains, golfing, farming, and flying. Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings: LeRoy Friesen and Arlyn Friesen and his wife Rosemary; and brothers-in-law: Jeffrey DeBolt and Harvey Smith. Survivors include his wife: Jean Friesen of Red Oak, IA; daughters: Susanah Friesen of Firth, NE and Sally Stoakes and husband Dan of Stanton, IA; grandchildren: Alexis, Weston, Evelyn, and Mitchell Stoakes; and Owen and Oliver Case; siblings: Marjorie Smith; Evelyn Duerksen and husband Charles; Donna Friesen; Jim Friesen and wife Peggy; Vern Friesen and wife Clarice; Beverly Brown and husband Bill; and Eleanor Pauls and husband John; brother-in-law: John DeBolt of Carroll, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday March 22, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
