Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Duncan, Oklahoma Mildred P. Holtmyer, age 92, of Duncan, Oklahoma formerly of Red Oak passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 in Duncan, Oklahoma. Mildred Pearl Holtmyer was born July 23, 1915 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Fred Casper and Glennie Pearl (Gilmore) Peters. She was raised in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Delbert L. Holtmyer on March 8, 1936 in Red Oak. Mildred and Delbert were longtime residents of Red Oak. Delbert preceded Mildred in death on May 21, 1990. Mildred was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was very active in the First Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. Mildred was currently living in Duncan, Oklahoma near her son, Marlin and his family. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother: Carlton Peters; and her sister: Alice Johnson. Survivors include her children: Ronald Holtmyer and wife Fonda of Tucson, Arizona; Marlin Holtmyer and wife Judy of Duncan, Oklahoma; Carolyn Jordan and husband Paul of Warsaw, Missouri; and Debra Leahy and husband Richard of Maricopa, Arizona; grandchildren: Scott Holtmyer and wife Annette of Beaumont, Texas; Jeff Holtmyer and wife Stacy of Duncan, Oklahoma; Devin Holtmyer of Tucson, Arizona; Darin Holtmyer and wife Andrea of Tucson, Arizona; Tena Holtmyer of Chandler, Arizona; and Tony Leahy and wife Jen of Aurora, Colorado; great grandchildren: Sarah and Catherine Holtmyer of Beaumont, Texas; Lane and Logan Holtmyer of Duncan, Oklahoma; Chloe Leahy of Chandler, Arizona; and Evelyn and Isaac Holtmyer of Tucson, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Family and friends will gather at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel by 12:30 PM to go to the cemetery in procession. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
