Birthplace: Montgomery County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Mildred L. Andrews, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Mildred Lorraine Andrews was born August 11, 1917 in Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Anglesey (Owens) Selser. She was raised in the Red Oak area attending school in Wales. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Andrews on March 7, 1936 at the manse of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. She and Wilbur lived all of their married life on farms northeast of Red Oak. Wilbur preceded Mildred in death on December 29, 1985 at which time Mildred moved into her apartment in Red Oak. Over the years Mildred had been very active in the Red Oak Presbyterian Church serving in many volunteer capacities and received a lifetime of service award. She was a 4-H Leader, the Farm Bureau Homemaker of the Year, and enjoyed being a member of the Carefree Campers Club. She loved painting, quilting, baking, and traveling. Mildred always loved the time she spent in Arizona in the winter months. She even won a good neighbor award at her park in Arizona. Mildred's greatest joy was her family and she especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She always loved life and never met a stranger. Preceding her in death were her parents; her 4 year old brother: Owen Selser; her husband: Wilbur; and her daughter: Lois Boeger. Survivors include her daughter: Janet Petry of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Joy Tunnell and husband Ken of Omaha, Nebraska; Scott Petry and wife Lisa of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Linda Chapman and husband Dave of Estes Park, Colorado; Al Boeger of Osawatomie, Kansas; Byron Petry and wife Julie of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; and Steven Boeger of Toms River, New Jersey; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; son-in-law: Ed Boeger and wife Judy of Omaha, Nebraska; sister: Evelyn DeBolt and husband Lester of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: Albert Selser and wife Joan of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 9:00-10:30 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Pesbyterian Church Ladies Aid. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
