Birthplace: Iowa City, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Michael Linn Holland, age 55, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at his residence. His companion of many years, Julie Lee, also passed away the same day. Michael Linn Holland was born March 18, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Ralph and Detta (Huffman) Holland. He was raised in Denver and moved to Minnesota where he was united in marriage to Carrie Fritz on December 26, 1981 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. To this union was born a son, Zacharia. Michael later moved to Omaha before moving to Red Oak where he has lived for many years. Michael was a painter for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son: Zacharia Holland of Ft. Madison, Iowa; sisters: Kathy Carpenter and fiancé Greg McFarland of Omaha, Nebraska and Denise Fish and husband Kevin of Red Oak, Iowa; step-father: Max Meggison of Red Oak, Iowa; step-grandchildren: Robert Watters and wife Bonnie of Preston, Iowa and Rachel Bedsole of Bellevue, Nebraska; niece: Amy Morelock of Nebo, Kentucky; nephews: David Morelock of Nebo, Kentucky; Ryan Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska; and Andrew Hansen of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brett White officiating. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
