Birthplace: Omaha, Nebraska Resided In: Stanton, Iowa Melvin W. Stuart, age 65, of Stanton, Iowa formerly of Omaha, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his home near Stanton, Iowa. Melvin Walter Stuart was born March 10, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of William and Ethel (Edmonds) Stuart. He attended school in Omaha and later served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1964. Upon his return to Omaha, he worked for various factories over the years as a machinist in the machine shops. He was united in marriage to Beverly "Ann" Jackson on March 17, 1967. They lived most of their married life in Omaha until moving to Stanton, Iowa about three years ago. Melvin loved bowling, softball, volleyball, fishing, and hunting, but most of all he loved his family and adored the grandkids. Preceding Melvin in death were his parents; brothers: Merle, Chuck, Mick, and Tom; and sisters: Mae Sigler and Jeanette Brandt. He is survived by his wife: Beverly "Ann" Stuart of Stanton, Iowa; children: Tommy Stuart of New Orleans, Louisiana; Polly Billings and husband Chad of Emerson, Iowa; and Dawn Fuller and husband Todd of Stanton, Iowa; grandchildren: Hannah Billings of Emerson, Iowa and Logan Fuller of Stanton, Iowa; mother-in-law: Pauline Jackson of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law: Charles Jackson and wife Retha of Omaha, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Braman Mortuary Chapel in Omaha, Nebraska. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa and Braman Mortuary, Omaha, Nebraska are in charge of arrangements.
