Maxine Elizabeth Shipley, age 80, of Hastings, Iowa, passed away, Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. Maxine was born September 27, 1942 in Castana, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Maxine (Hanks) Hinrickson. She graduated from Mapleton High School and over the years was a waitress and worked for Salvation Army. Maxine was united in marriage to Ronald Shipley in 1971 and he preceded her in death in 1985. In 1995, Maxine moved to Hastings, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, and taking care of her grandkids.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors include her children: Bob Hinrickson and wife Robin of Seattle, WA; Ronie Ochoa and husband Julio of Red Oak, IA; and James Hinrickson; many grandchildren including Jessica Bland, Melissa McCollom, Kristen Shorty, Joseph Shipley, Thomas Shipley, and Andrew Shipley; many great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
