Birthplace: Montgomery County, IA Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Maxine A. Schick, age 99, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Maxine Angeline Schick was born January 24, 1911 in Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of Charles Alfred and Hannah Elizabeth (Edwards) Ronk. She graduated from the Emerson, Iowa High School in 1928 and was united in marriage to Milo William Schick on November 26, 1932 in Rockport, Missouri. They farmed near Malvern and Emerson before retiring and moving into Emerson in 1964. Maxine also worked as a cook at the Murphy Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. She was a longtime member of the Emerson United Methodist Church, the Esther Circle, United Methodist Women, Sewing Circle, and the Emerson Senior Citizens. Preceding her in death were her husband: Milo Schick on March 26, 1997; brother: Virgil Ronk; and sisters: Loretta Shook, Juanita Jones, and Virginia Porter. Survivors include many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Emerson United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the Emerson United Methodist Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
