Birthplace: Wales, Iowa Resided In: Plainview, NE formerly Red Oak Mary Marie Ross, age 92, of Plainview, Nebraska formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Plainview Manor Care Center. Mary was born November 12, 1921 near Wales, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Bertha (Davis) Warren. She graduated from Wales-Lincoln High School in 1940. Mary was united in marriage to Conrad Ross, Jr. on April 26, 1941 in Papillion, Nebraska. They farmed in the Wales and Emerson communities for many years. Mary and Conrad moved into Red Oak in 1958. Mary worked at the Thomas D. Murphy Company as a bookkeeper and later as receptionist and phone operator for 30 years. She was a member of the 15-20 year club, enjoyed teaching ceramics, and baked and decorated wedding cakes. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Conrad Ross, Jr.; sister: Dorothy Lynam; and brother: Duane Warren. Survivors include her sons: Gary Ross and wife Barbara of Brunswick, Nebraska and James Ross and wife Rae of Gilmore City, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Private burial services will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the funeral home. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
