Obituary

Mary Anna Miner, age 77, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center. Mary Anna was born December 30, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Segrave) McMichael. She was raised in Omaha and graduated from South High School. Mary Anna was united in marriage to John Miner on June 20, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska. After marriage, they lived in Papillion, Nebraska until moving to Red Oak, Iowa in 1989. Mary Anna and John owned and operated Miner Trucking for many years. Mary Anna enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, being with her family, and Margaritas. She was known to be a very giving person and donated to many different charities. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: John Miner, Sr.; two sons: Mike and John, Jr.; and sister: Rosie. Survivors include her children: Kelly Schram and husband Philip of Omaha, NE; Denny Miner and wife Chris of Emerson, IA; and Jason Miner and wife Rainbow of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Jake Miner and wife Molly of Red Oak, IA; Justin Miner and Lexie Holmgren of Emerson, IA; Jamiee Franzen and husband Cody of Treynor, IA; Philip Schram and Samantha Queen of Omaha, NE; Bobbie Jo DePuy and husband Nick of Red Oak, IA; Levi Miner of Emerson, IA; Victoria Miner of Council Bluffs, IA; Michaela Miner of Red Oak, IA; Dakota Miner of Emerson, IA; Mickenzie Miner of Red Oak, IA; and Jason Miner, Jr. of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Isabelle, Ensleigh, Delilah, and Willa Miner; Truxtyn and Raelynn Franzen; Philip and Paisley Schram; and Kali Jo and Jack DePuy; sister: Dolly Pesek and husband Richard of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law: Jerry Miner of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
