Birthplace: Greenwood, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Mary Jane Gassner, age 97, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Care Center after a brief illness. Mary Jane Gassner was born January 18, 1915 in Jackson County, Missouri the daughter of Roy D. and Rose C. (Wilkinson) Gassner. She was educated in the Boulder Colorado public schools, graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Business Administration. Mary Jane lived in Red Oak since the early 1940's. She worked twenty years for the State of Iowa Department of Human Services and was Montgomery County Director prior to her retirement in January of 1977. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister: Helen E. Housman; and brother: W.T. Gassner. Survivors include her many friends. Graveside memorial services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Public Library. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
