Birthplace: Lyons, Nebraska Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Marvin H. Dahlin, age 83, of Elliott, Iowa passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak. Marvin H. Dahlin was born June 24, 1923 in Lyons, Nebraska the son of Henning and Anna (Hallberg) Dahlin. The family moved to Omaha where Marvin graduated high school. He entered the United States Army during WWII. Upon his return from the service, Marvin lived in Elliott, Iowa where he was a carpenter in the Elliott and Red Oak area all of his life. Marvin was a member of the National Rifleman's Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Shorty Dahlin. Survivors include his sister-in-law: Rosie Dahlin of Torrance, California; nieces: Melody Bivens and husband Bert of Caliente, California; and Pamela Johnston of Torrance, California; great nieces and nephews: Janell Nickelson and husband Brian of Tustin, California; Leann Davison and husband Brian of Lomita, California; Branden McCullar of Bakersfield, California; and Casey McCullar of Camp Pendleton, California; many cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Al Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
