Obituary

Marlene M. Taylor passed away Friday December 2, 2022 after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Marlene was born November 27, 1958 in Red Oak, Ia. Marlene was the daughter of Devon "Jeep" Archer and wife Helen (Bradway) Archer. She grew up on a farm outside of Stanton, IA where she grew up loving horses and barrel racing. Marlene graduated from Stanton High School in 1977. On June 18, 1977 Marlene married Greg D. Taylor in Red Oak, IA. Together they raised 3 children on an acreage in Morton's Mill, IA. Greg and Marlene worked hard on the farm raising hogs and cattle but she especially loved her horses. The Taylor family enjoyed many summers of camping and trail riding, especially at Brushy Creek in Fort Dodge, IA. Marlene worked at Parker Hannifin in Red Oak, IA for over 20 years where she valued many long-time friendships. Thanks to her husband, Greg, Marlene was able to live at her home in Morton's Mill and enjoy her 64th birthday at home surrounded by all her children and grandchildren before she passed. A special thank you to all her wonderful caregivers that made it possible to live her last years at home: Jill Cooper, Karen Jenkins, Linda Bradway, Amber Sunderman, Deb Cooper, Coco McArdle Terry, and her hospice nurse Nina.

Preceding her in death are her parents Devon and Helen Archer, in-laws Lloyd and Thelma Taylor. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Greg D. Taylor of Morton's Mill, IA: children, Travis Taylor and wife Stacy of Stanton, IA, Tony Taylor and wife Amy of Minneapolis, Mn, Tiffany Becker and husband Chris of Jefferson, SD. The joy of her life, her grandchildren: Garrett, Devon, Justin, Hunter, Maley, Berkley, Brynnley, and Greyson. Her sister Shirley DeWitt and husband Rex of Red Oak, IA.

Marlene had specific wishes to not have a formal funeral and visitation. Instead, the family would like to have a very casual celebration of life at The Hayloft in Grant, IA on December 10, 2022 from 1pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of the Midwest in honor of Marlene and the excellent care she was provided. We hope this helps and comforts other families through their fabulous services. This can be done over the phone (712) 768-2003 or via check in the mail to 910 S Locust St. Glenwood, IA 51534.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements
