Mark Thomas Raney, age 70, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home. Mark was born April 25, 1954, in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of James and LaDonna (Carlson) Raney. He graduated from Villisca High School in 1972 and served in the United States Army stationed in Korea. Upon his return from the service, he farmed, was a farm hand for many years for Dean Gourley and was a painter. He lived in Acorn Acres in Red Oak for many years before moving to Clarinda, Iowa. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time at Okoboji, and snow skiing. Mark loved his dog BB and his family very much and had a special bond with his brother, Randy.

Preceding him in death were his mother: LaDonna Raney and brother: Randy Raney. Survivors include his father: James Raney of Stanton, IA; sister: Judy Rhamy and husband Larry of Avoca, IA; brother: Larry Raney and wife Nancy of Winterset, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
