Birthplace: Greenfield, IA Resided In: Glenwood, IA formerly Elliott, IA Mark Allen Nelson, age 55, of Glenwood, Iowa formerly Elliott, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at On With Life in Glenwood. Mark was born October 16, 1960 in Greenfield, Iowa the son of Russell and Dorothy (Milner) Nelson. He was raised in Elliott, Iowa graduating from Griswold High School in 1979. He attended Southwest Community College and started working for Microswitch/Honeywell Corporation. He was also working towards an engineering degree. Mark lived several different places before making On With Life his home nearly 20 years ago. Mark was always very adventuresome enjoying things like sky diving, fast cars (mustangs and corvettes), and motorcycles. He also enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, camping, boating, shopping, and loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Mark is survived by his loving parents: Russell and Dorothy Nelson of Elliott, Iowa; brother: Rick Nelson and wife Nancy of Elliott, Iowa; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the On With Life Foundation. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
