Birthplace: Villisca, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa Marjorie E. Wilson, age 89, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Clarinda Regional Hospital. Marjorie Ellen Wilson was born August 2, 1919 in Villisca, Iowa the daughter of Charles "Arthur" and Nora Faye (Neal) Smith. She was raised and attended school in Villisca, Iowa. Marjorie took care of elderly people until her marriage to Casey Albert Wilson on August 27, 1937 in Maryville, Missouri. They lived and farmed near Guss, Iowa for three years and Runnells, Iowa for 11 years before moving back to Villisca in 1960. Marjorie and Casey owned and operated Shady Lawn Rest Home from 1967 until 1978. Marjorie was a member of the Advent Christian Church, the Ladies Evening Circle, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Casey Albert Wilson in 1987; daughter: Geneva Skalberg; brothers: Don, Keith, Elmer, and Jim Smith; and sons-in-law: Everett Hutchings and Clarence McCuen. Survivors include her children: Jeanette Hendrickson and husband Ray of Oakland, Arkansas; James Wilson and wife Nancy of Gilman City, Missouri; Eldon Wilson and wife Geraldine of Des Moines, Iowa; Mable McCuen of Stanton, Iowa; Norma Jean Graham of Villisca, Iowa; Steve Wilson and wife Peggy of Shenandoah, Iowa; Russ Wilson of San Francisco, California; and Lloyd Wilson and wife Bonnie of Brookhaven, Mississippi; 40 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; brothers: Paul Smith of Villisca, Iowa and Glendon Smith and wife Wendy of Ft. Reiley, Florida; sisters-in-law: Louise Smith of Red Oak, Iowa and LaVonne Smith of Florida; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Advent Christian Church in Villisca with Rev. Kevin Skipworth, officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca. There will be open visitation beginning at 1 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Advent Christian Church with the family present from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
