Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Marion Lee Haas, age 76, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Marion was born September 17, 1942 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Lester and Grace (Walker) Haas. He graduated from Red Oak High School. He lived in Nebraska for about 6 years where he had a route driving a milk truck. He met his future wife, Evelyn Miller while he was there. They were married September 2, 1978 at the Methodist Church in Red Oak, Iowa and lived all of their married live in Red Oak. Marion worked at Star Agri for many years and later helped his dad with his lawn service which he eventually operated on his own. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard retiring after 26 years. He served in Desert Storm. He was a member of the Villisca VFW and enjoyed spending time with the McDonald's Coffee Group every day. Marion loved visiting with people. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Donald and Duane; and sisters: Lucille McWilliams, Doris Dawson, and Carol Schlotterback. Survivors include his wife: Evelyn Haas of Red Oak, IA; son: Scott Haas and wife Ashley of Lincoln, NE; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will take place in the Frankfort Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
