Birthplace: rural Climax, Iowa Resided In: Enid, Oklahoma Marion K. "Cotton" Allen, age 82, of Enid, Oklahoma formerly of Montgomery County, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 25, 2004 at his home in Enid, Oklahoma. Marion K. "Cotton" Allen was born November 20, 1921 in Montgomery County, Iowa near Climax the son of Lewis Orville and Frances Etta (Clawson) Allen. He was raised in the Climax area graduating from Coburg High School. Cotton was united in marriage to Lois Maxine Shank on November 20, 1942. They made their home in Climax where he farmed. Cotton was a 32nd Degree Mason, Past Master of Emerson, Iowa Humanity Lodge #378 and was a member of the Climax United Methodist Church. They moved to Enid Oklahoma in June of 1989. Cotton enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; one son; and one grandson. Survivors include his wife: Lois Allen of Enid, Oklahoma; 2 sons: Michael Allen of Carol Stream, Illinois; and Denny Allen and wife Evi of Enid, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, March 29, 2004 at the Walnut Cemetery in Montgomery County, Iowa with Pastor Janice Carlton officiating. There will be Masonic services held at 7 PM Sunday, March 28, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with visitation with the family to follow. Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Lodge #501 Building Fund or the charity of your choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
