Marilyn Jean "Jeanie" Nippert, age 87, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at her home. Marilyn was born June 4, 1935, at the family home in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of James Donald and Rose D. (Cron) Nelson. She was baptized into the Christian faith at the Methodist Church in Atlantic, Iowa. Jeanie graduated from Atlantic High School and Barnes School of Cosmetology in Council Bluffs, Iowa. All through high school and after, she worked at Cook and Caslow Rexall Drug Store for a total of 20 years. Jeanie was united in marriage to Duane Oscar Nippert on October 3, 1971 at the Methodist Church in Atlantic, Iowa. Two children were born to this union: Donald Duane Nippert and Rose Anna Nippert. They lived on a farm in rural Villisca, Iowa. Jeanie was a member of the Morton's Mill Church where she taught Sunday School for over twenty years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Donald and Roger Nelson; sisters: Dorothy Chamberlain, Pat Marsh, and Darlene Frizzell; brothers-in-law: Jerry Marsh, Calvin Frizzell, and Emory Bridgeford; and sister-in-law: Joyce Nelson. Survivors include her husband: Duane Nippert of Villisca, Iowa; children: Don Nippert and wife Chris of Villisca, Iowa and Rose Anna "Ann" Heinrich and husband David of Bogota, Colombia; 8 grandchildren: Rose, Cord, and Grace Nippert and Rachel, Molly, Joshua, Luke, and Samuel Heinrich; sisters-in-law: Pat Nelson of Mt. Vernon, Washington and LaVera Bridgeford of Springfield, Missouri; many nieces, nephews; cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
