Birthplace: Griswold, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Marilyn R. Euans, age 88, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away February 27, 2021, at the Oxbow Living Center in Ashland, Nebraska. Marilyn parents, Edward and Ruth (Billings) Boseck, welcomed their baby girl home to their farm outside of Griswold, Iowa, after already having having four boys. She attended country school and later graduated from Griswold High School in 1950. Marilyn lived in Shenandoah, Iowa, for a short time working at the hospital there. She was united in marriage to Hubert C. Scherdin on December 24, 1950. He went to fight in the Korean War days after their marriage and died in a prisoner of war camp shortly after. Marilyn later married George T. Euans on December 31, 1953. They were soon blessed with their first born, Theresa Gail and six years later Kathy Lynn. Marilyn and George operated the Elliott Hardware Store in Elliott, Iowa, until George's death in October of 1995. Marilyn continued to open the store most days until moving to Oxbow Living Center in Ashland, Nebraska. Marilyn was a longtime member of the Elliott Church of Christ and at one time a member of Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa. She enjoyed visiting with all of her friends who stopped by the hardware store to check on her. Marilyn truly missed her Iowa friends, but she enjoyed her crossword puzzles and shopping trips with her daughters. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husbands: Hubert C. Scherdin and George T. Euans; her parents: Edward and Ruth (Billings) Boseck; brothers: Jerrold, Cecil, Beryl, and Russell Boseck; granddaughter: Amanda Wallace; and son-in-law: Roger Wallace. Survivors include her daughters: Theresa Franco and husband Phillip and Kathy Dominy and husband Michael; grandchildren: Vanessa Alba and husband Andrew; Randi Burress and husband Chris; Andi Dodd; and Adam Wallace; great grandchildren: Katie and Donovan; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. A graveside celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa with refreshments and fellowship at the community building to follow. Memorials are suggested to the Elliott Volunteer Fire Department or the Elliott Church of Christ. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
