Birthplace: Prescott, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Marie Keith, age 98, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Florence "Marie" Keith was born December 10, 1904 near Prescott, Iowa the daughter of Daniel and Mabel (Holmes) Crow. Marie was raised in Prescott and was united in marriage to Frank Keith on December 10, 1923 in Prescott. Marie was a homemaker and Frank worked for the railroad. Frank's job brought them to Red Oak in 1952. For the past 20 years Marie has made her home with her daughter, Frances Harold. Marie was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Frank Keith on July 29, 1983; 2 brothers: Dallas and Charles Crow; a sister: Mildred Bassett; and a son-in-law: Clifford Abbey. Survivors include her daughter: Frances Harold of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Duane Abbey and his wife Mary of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Steven Abbey and his wife Eva of Omaha, Nebraska; and Tammie Harold and her friend Roger Stoneking of Grant, Iowa; great grandchildren: Evan Abbey and his wife Kristen of Decorah, Iowa; and Kerin Abbey of St, Charles, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, April 28, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Nancy Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Corning, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
