Birthplace: Villisca, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Marianne Martin, age 80, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, November 30, 2002 at her daughters residence in Olathe, Kansas. Marianne Martin was born October 20, 1922 in Villisca, Iowa the daughter of George and Mary (McCoy) Harrell. She was raised in Villisca and graduated from Shenandoah High School. Marianne was united in marriage to Curtis "Roy" Martin on October 12, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri. Marianne and Roy operated the Martin and Sons Farm Supply until 1977 when they retired. Roy preceded her in death on December 17, 1989. Marianne has been a lifelong resident of Red Oak since her marriage. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star; Civil Air Patrol, and the Red Oak Country Club. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Roy Martin; 3 brothers: William, Mac, and Richard Harrell; and a sister: Margaret Miller. Survivors include her 3 daughters: Margaret Edmondson and her husband Duane of Red Oak, Iowa; Carolyn Gomer and her husband Dennis of Olathe, Kansas; Colleen Martin of Olathe, Kansas; one son: Ronald Martin of Red Oak, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Joseph Edmondson of Lenexa, Kansas; Roianne Stafford and her husband Darren of Raytown, Missouri; Richard Edmondson of Lenexa, Kansas; Michelle Gomer of Olathe, Kansas; Andrew Gomer and his wife Renee of Concord, California; Daniel Gomer of Lawrence, Kansas; Scott Martin and his wife Donna of Lenexa, Kansas; and Jennifer Jackson and her husband Matthew of Grant, Iowa; and four great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for will be held 10:00 AM Friday, December 6, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, December 5, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Hospice in lieu of flowers. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
