Birthplace: rural Mills County, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Marguerite M. Miller, age 95, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Marguerite Mae Miller was born June 28, 1916 in rural Mills County, Iowa the daughter of John and Emma (Whitt) Dodson. She graduated from Wales Lincoln High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Dale H. Miller on August 16, 1939 in Rockport, Missouri. They had been married for 63 years when Dale passed away on December 10, 2002. They farmed all of their lives in Mills and Montgomery Counties in Iowa, moving into Red Oak in 1983. Marguerite was a very active member of the Ladies Aid at Wales Presbyterian Church and held the office of Treasurer for several years. She was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church and the Rebecca Circle. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale; four sisters; five brothers; two sons-in-law: Lowell Hubbard and Roderic Pearson; granddaughter: Joni Underwood; and great grandson: Alec Jacob Pearson. Survivors include her daughters: Beverly Hubbard of Stanton, IA; Barbara Carey and husband Ron of Bellevue, NE; and Nancy Pearson of Des Moines, IA; 10 grandchildren; Jeffrey Porter and wife Lori of Mountain View, MO; Andrea Fuchs and husband Lonni of Overland Park, KS; Cynthia Porter of McCloud, OK; Gregory Porter and wife Dawn of Clovis, CA; Wendy Starr and husband Thomas of Clovis, CA; Robert Murray of Garvin, MN; Brian Murray and wife Melissa of Brandon, SD; Rick Pearson and wife Kelly of Allen, TX; Rob Pearson and wife Julie of Bettendorf, IA and Jon Pearson of Omaha, NE; 28 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Pauline Hogzett of Oakland, IA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Caryn Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church or the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
