Birthplace: Emerson, Iowa Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Margaret "Ione" Schick, age 99, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness. Margaret "Ione" Schick was born December 8, 1904 in Emerson, Iowa the daughter of Levi and Amy May (Coppock) Huntsman. She was raised in the Emerson area and was united in marriage to Reuel Schick on June 14, 1926 in Glenwood, Iowa. Reuel and Ione lived all of their lives in the Emerson area until Reuel passed away on August 15, 1956. Ione and Bud moved to Emerson from a farm near Wales at that time. Ione worked as a dietician at the Glenwood State School for 11 years. Ione loved working in her yard, loved her flowers, and enjoyed watching the birds. She was also a member of the Emerson Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Reuel Schick on August 15, 1956; her brothers: Carl, Jim, Ray, Fred, Doyle, and Guy; and sisters: Lucille Edie and Maxine Jensen. Survivors include her children: Berniece Baucom and husband Ray of Stanton, Iowa; Delores Ackerman and husband Dale of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Kent Schick and wife Evelyn of Red Oak, Iowa; and Bud Schick of Emerson, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; 1 great great great granddaughter; 3 step-great grandchildren; sister: Vivian Babbitt of Emerson, Iowa; sister-in-law: Maxine Schick of Emerson, Iowa; many nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Pries officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral services on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Emerson Fire and Rescue Department. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
