Birthplace: Buxton, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Margaret Riggle, age 78, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, March 19, 2004 at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center after an extended illness. Margaret W. Riggle was born March 6, 1926 in Buxton, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Rose (McCann) Swinscoe. She was raised near Buxton and Chariton graduating from Chariton, Iowa High School. During WWII Margaret worked as a Nurses Aid in California. She returned to Southwest Iowa and was united in marriage to Charles Riggle, Sr. on December 14, 1944 in Corning, Iowa. Margaret worked at Glenwood State School and Hewet Nursing Home before moving to Red Oak in 1969. She worked at the Good Samaritan Care Center until she retired due to failing health. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter: Karla Kay; grandson: Martin William Kesterson; and her husband: Charles Riggle, Sr. on June 10, 1996. Survivors include her son: Charles Riggle, Jr. and wife Betty of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Toni Kesterson and husband Kenny of Red Oak, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: JoAnn Robinson and husband Robert of Scribner, Nebraska; Lora Stahl and husband Herb of Blair, Nebraska; Kristina Hadden and husband Mark of Stuart, Iowa; Sandra Sousek and husband Jeff of Prague, Nebraska; Joseph Riggle and wife Tara of Scribner, Nebraska; Amanda Riggle of Red Oak, Iowa; Matt Kesterson of Red Oak, Iowa; and Angela Travis and husband Duane of Red Oak, Iowa; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Audrey Riggle of Red Oak, Iowa; Emma Nussbaum and Imogene Boothe both of Chariton, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Burgett officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday, March 21, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Fire Department and Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
