Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Margaret Louise "Maggie" Renn, age 71, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Maggie was born September 19, 1947 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle Edward and Mary Louise (Umphreys) Armstrong. She graduated from South Page High School in 1965 and worked for Red Oak Fruit and Grocery. This is where she met Ralph Renn. They were married November 9, 1969 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived all of their married life in Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years, Maggie worked for Red Oak Fruit and Grocery, Holiday Inn, Star Agri, Super Value, CDS, and Acorn Acres. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was very involved in Relay For Life. She enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers, sewing, being a "Mother" to all of the neighborhood kids; and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband: Ralph Renn of Red Oak, IA; daughters: Amy Akers and husband Tony of Red Oak, IA and Kelley Kinser and husband Nick of Elliott, IA; grandchildren: Brianna Doty and husband Jesse of Griswold, IA; Damon Dozier-Wolcott of Red Oak, IA; and Brandon Dozier-Wolcott of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Aiden and Naomi Doty; brother: Lyle Dean Armstrong of Oak Harbor, WA; sister: Mary Katherine Fort and husband Lonnie of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law: Robert Renn of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law: Judy Oakleaf of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family or the American Heart Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
