Birthplace: Page County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Margaret Pearson, age 86, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Margaret Alice Louise Pearson was born July 26, 1922 on the Hultman family farm in Page County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Edna (Mainquist) Hultman. She grew up on the farm and graduated from the Red Oak High School in 1939. She then attended Red Oak Junior College. Margaret was united in marriage to Lester Pearson on December 4, 1941 at the Fremont Covenant Church in Page County. She and Lester lived on the Pearson Century Farm for 64 years and then moved to Arlington Place in Red Oak. Most recently they called Red Oak Good Samaritan Center their home. Margaret was a faithful servant and member of the First Covenant Church for many years. She was the pianist for many activities at church and in the community. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing piano, singing, and treasured her time with family. Preceding her in death were her parents; son: Tommy Pearson; son-in-law: Bruce Carlson; daughter-in-law: Paula Pearson; grandson-in-law: Lance Orton; and brothers: Maurice, Carl, Curt, and Marvin Hultman. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 67 years: Lester Pearson of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Deanna Carlson of Minneapolis, MN; Ted Pearson and wife Joyce of Red Oak, IA; Bonnie Viner and husband Howard of Emerson, IA; and Randy Pearson of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Vanessa Johnson and husband Peter of Chicago, IL; Max Carlson of Minneapolis, MN; Linda Orton of Sabetha, KS; Maggie Seeliger and husband Tyson of Houston, TX; Adam Hart of Gillette, WY; Lauren Viner of St. Paul, MN; Nicholas Viner of Emerson, IA; Anna Margaret Viner of Chicago, IL; and Ellen Viner of St. Paul, MN; great grandchildren: Kjersten Margaret, Annika, and Anders Johnson; Levi and Leigha Orton; and Annabelle Seeliger; sister: Corrine Nelson of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to the First Covenant Church.
