Margaret Ann "Maggie" Maher, age 82, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Arlington Place. Maggie was born September 24, 1942, in Compton, California, the daughter of Don and Hellen (Jenkins) Bonfy. She graduated from Compton High School in 1960 and attended Compton Community College. She was an attendance clerk at Compton High School for 8 years. Maggie was united in marriage to Garth Waters and one child was born to this union: Jason. The family moved back to the Red Oak area in 1974, and Maggie worked at Earl May in Shenandoah, the Hospital in Red Oak and D & L before starting a long career with Parker Hannifan, retiring in 2007 after 33 years of service. Maggie was united in marriage to Mick Maher in 1987 in Springfield, Missouri. Maggie spent many years living in the country where she loved her cats and dogs.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Mick Maher and cousins: Darry Jenkins, Trent Jones, and Karen Rahn. Survivors include her son: Jason Waters of Red Oak, Iowa; cousins: Don Jenkins and wife Nancy of Atlantic, Iowa; Bryan Jenkins and wife Trudy of Wales, Iowa; LaDonna Rossander and husband Harold of Stanton, Iowa; and Larry Jones of Aspen, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.

Per Margaret's wishes there will be a private family graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the Clarinda Humane Society in Clarinda, Iowa.
