Birthplace: Hawleyville, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Margaret Jane Kraft, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Red Oak Good Samaritan Society. Margaret was born November 4, 1924 in Hawleyville, Iowa the daughter of William and Rosena (Moser) Orme. She graduated from Nodaway High School in 1942 and went on to learn Teletyping and Decoding. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she met Carroll Kraft. She traveled to Pennsylvania to see Carroll and they were united in marriage on December 16, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. Over the years they lived in California, Newport News, RI, Omaha, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and eventually moved to Iowa in 1960 when they bought a farm. After retirement, Margaret and Carroll moved to Missouri where they had many years of good times with family and friends before moving back to Iowa to be near family. Throughout the years, Margaret worked in a Dry Cleaners, Hosiery Factory, Standard Register Company, National Farmers Organization, Lisle Corporation, and sold real estate. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, spending time with family, working jig saw puzzles, ice cream, family gatherings, keeping up on politics, and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Preceding her in death were her parents, sister: Iola Hedinger; and husband: Carroll Kraft on August 2, 2013. Survivors include her children: Karan Johnson and husband Spencer of Red Oak, IA, Roger Kraft and wife Rita of Norfolk, NE; seven grandchildren: Kai Swanson and husband Mark of Red Oak, IA; Matt Pendergraft and wife Kelli of Red Oak, IA; Scott Pendergraft and wife Rachel of Harrison, AR; Suzanne Kraft of Norfolk, NE; Bradley Kraft and wife Paula of Kearney, NE; Tiffany Livingston and husband Scott of Omaha, NE; and Denise Kraft of Norfolk, NE; many great and great-great grandchildren; brother: Don Orme and wife Betty of Minden, IA; along with many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with burial of the cremated remains to be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
