Birthplace: Red Oak, IA Resided In: Raytown, MO formerly Red Oak, IA Margaret Edmondson, age 69, of Raytown, Missouri, formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital East in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Mary "Margaret" Edmondson was born February 16, 1943 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Roy and Marianne (Harrell) Martin. She was raised in Red Oak graduating from Red Oak High School with the class of 1961. Margaret was united in marriage to Duane Edmondson on February 29, 1964 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived near Henderson, Iowa where they farmed until moving into Red Oak, Iowa in 1978. Margaret worked for Martin and Sons for many years and also Thomas D. Murphy Company/JII where she took early retirement. Most recently she worked for the Red Coach Inn. Duane preceded Margaret in death on December 27, 2009 and in 2010 Margaret moved to Raytown, Missouri to be near her children. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was a former Red Oak Eagles member. Margaret enjoyed bowling, square dancing, reading, watching the Food Network, making cards, and making personalized candles. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband: Duane Edmondson. Survivors include her children: Joe Edmondson of Kansas City, KS; Richard Edmondson of Raytown, MO; and Roianne Stafford and husband Darren of Raytown, MO; sisters: Carolyn Gomer and husband Dennis of Olathe, KS and Colleen Martin of Olathe, KS; brother: Ron Martin of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law: Carroll Jean Moulds and husband Art of Webster City, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30- 8 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Montgomery County Animal Rescue. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
