Birthplace: Council Bluffs, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Marcia Lemons, age 54, of Red Oak, Iowa, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Marcia Louise Lemons was born September 10, 1957 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa the daughter of Doug and Carol (Spetman) Lemons. She was a 1976 graduate of Treynor High School and was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ in Elliott, Iowa. Marcia had a deep love for family members and adoration for all children. She was lovingly referred to as "Nanny" by her nieces and nephews of whom she loved spending time with. Marcia will always be remembered for touching the lives of many with her loving kindness, concern for others, and her bright smile. One of Marcia's favorite pastimes was reading. Marcia is survived by her parents: Doug and Carol Lemons of Red Oak, Iowa; sister: Janice Robinson and husband Ernie of Villisca, Iowa; brother: Jeffrey Lemons and wife Janis of Greeley, Colorado; 7 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Elliott, Iowa. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery, rural Villisca, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Elliott Church of Christ or the Oncology Department at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
