Birthplace: Climax, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Madge Esther McKinney was born August 13, 1910 in Climax, Iowa, the daughter of George and Blanche (Norris) Rogers. She passed away on Saturday morning, May 22, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 99 years, 9 months and 9 days. Madge grew up in rural Montgomery County and graduated from Stennett High School. She later attended the Clarinda Community College where she received her nurses training. Madge worked for the Murphy Memorial Hospital until she retired in 1975. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Red Oak and very involved in the Martha Circle. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and knitting. Later in her life, she would knit hats to give to children who were going through cancer treatments. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two sons, Norris and Douglas Claypool; three grandchildren; seven brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son, Isaac Claypool; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy VanDorin and Audrey Rogers; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
