Birthplace: Waukee, Iowa Resided In: Salona Beach, California formerly of Emerson, Iowa Mable Kellenbarger Gutshall, age 96, of Salona Beach, California formerly of Emerson, Iowa passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2001 at the Oak Hill residential Care Center in Escondido, California. Mable Kellenbarger Gutshall was born September 28, 1904 in Waukee, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Fry) Lane. She graduated from high school and attended Simpson College where she received a degree in Home Economics in 1929. Mable was united in marriage to Glenn Kellenbarger on May 17, 1931 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mable lived on a farm near Emerson, Iowa for many years. She taught school at Wales for 2 years where she was the basketball coach and was a homemaker all of her life. Glenn preceded her in death on March 4, 1974. On June 8, 1975 Mable was united in marriage to Forrest Gutshall. They lived in Twenty-nine Palms, California until 1988 when Forrest passed away. Mable then moved to Salona Beach, California and recently moved to Oak Hill Residential Care Facility in Escondido, California. Mable was a member of the Champion Hill Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Goodwill Club, was a 4 H Leader, and most recently enjoyed her time at the Senior Center of the Presbyterian Church in Salona Beach. Preceding her in death were her parents; both her husbands; brother: Leonard Lane; sister: Edna Lane; 2 sons-in-law: Richard Frazee and Sam McKee; and a grandson-in-law: Jim Spicer. Survivors include 2 sons: Charles Kellenbarger and his wife Pat of Salona Beach, California; and Harry Kellenbarger and his wife Sheila of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter: Grace McKee of Red Oak, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
