Birthplace: Waterman, IL Resided In: Red Oak, IA formerly Stanton Marjorie Geraldine "Jerry" Fay Vennerberg, age 82, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly Stanton, Iowa passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born April 30, 1932 in Waterman, Illinois the daughter of Wells and Jessie (Dean) Fay. She was baptized and confirmed in the United Presbyterian Church near Somonauk, Illinois. She graduated from Waterman, Illinois High School in 1950 and attended Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa where she met Dwight Vennerberg. They were united in marriage on September 6, 1952 in Somonauk, Illinois. To this union three children were born: Suzanne, Dwayne, and Dean. After she raised her family she graduated from Iowa Western Community College earning her LPN. She was employed at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Through the years Jerry continued her education and graduated from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa as an RN and continued to work for MCMH for 25 years. Jerry was active in Mamrelund Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and held offices in the women's organization. Jerry served 5 years on the Western Iowa Synodical Women's Organization. She helped organize Living Care Hospice and continued as a volunteer for Heartland Home Health and Hospice. Jerry also served four years on the State Hospice Board. She was active in Montgomery County Farm Bureau serving as Chairman of the Women's Committee for several years. Jerry helped organize Montgomery County Breast Cancer Support Group and served as a Reach to Recovery volunteer. She also served on the Montgomery County Hospital Auxiliary and Foundation Boards. Jerry loved playing piano, gardening, knitting, and crocheting. Many of her knitted and crocheted items were given to charitable organizations. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents and son: Dean Vennerberg. Survivors include her husband: Dwight Vennerberg of Red Oak, IA; daughter: Suzanne Caquelin and husband Lennie of Minneapolis, MN; son: Dwayne Vennerberg and wife Terri of Stanton, IA; grandchildren: Matthew Caquelin and wife Jennifer of St. Paul, MN; Kristin Caquelin and fiancé Adam Proulx of Minneapolis, MN; Allison Vennerberg of San Francisco, CA; and Daniel Vennerberg and fiancée Kelsey Uherka of Neenah, WI; great grandchildren: Sebastian, Savannah, and Simon Caquelin; brother: Warren Fay and wife LaDonna of Byron, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli officiating. Burial will be in the Mamre Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice, or the charity of the donor's choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
