Birthplace: Jameson, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lyle Max Terry, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Lyle was born July 29, 1947 in Jameson, Missouri, the son of Donald James and Wilma Mae (Hockman) Terry. He lived in many places throughout Missouri and Iowa before moving to Red Oak, Iowa, in 1968. Lyle was united in marriage to Velma McMillin in 1968. Three children were born to this union: Troy, Donna, and Marsha. He worked at the Ford Dealership before starting with Uniroyal in 1973. Lyle worked for the company through the corporate change to Parker Hannifin retiring in 2012. He was united in marriage to Patricia "Patty" Bentson on August 11, 2001 at the Fremont Lutheran Church at Nyman, Iowa. They made their home in Red Oak, Iowa. Lyle loved anything that went fast including cars and motorcycles. He had a great talent for fixing cars and restoring them. Lyle was a jack of all trades and loved tinkering in his shop. He could fix anything. Preceding him in death were his parents; grandson: Dylan Brown; and siblings: Kenny Terry, Donna Haddenham, Keith Terry, Shirley Kragel, Jim Terry, and Diane Jones. Survivors include his children: Troy Terry and fiancée Jenny Bruce of Red Oak, IA; Donna Martin and husband Scott of New Sharon, IA; and Marsha Terry of Red Oak, IA; step-sons: James Bentson and wife Iona of Red Oak, IA and Jeremy Bentson and fiancée Christina of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Tyler, Nicholas and Jaxon Terry; Lauren Martin; Brandon Lamb; Kyle Martin; Jacob Berggren; and MacKenzie, Gabe, and Owyn Bentson; great grandchildren: Alex, Aspen, and Waelynn; brothers: Darrell Terry of Shenandoah, IA; Dave Terry of Farragut, IA; and Kim Terry and wife Sherry of Shenandoah, IA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mooch Jones of Essex, IA; Pamela Bentson of Plattsmouth, NE; David Bentson of Red Oak, IA; and Barbara Wright-Wisner and husband Jonathan of Greeley, CO; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
