Birthplace: Rome, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Lurline Stille, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away March 26, 2003 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Lurline Stille was born August 10, 1913 in Rome, Missouri, the daughter of W.L. "Roy" and Myrtle (Fowler) Brake. The family moved to Mills County when Lurline was one year old. She graduated from Malvern High School in 1932 and received normal training. On March 22, 1933, Lurline was united in marriage to Albert Stille in Emerson, Iowa. They farmed in Mills and Montgomery Counties for over 40 years and moved into Red Oak in 1976 when they retired. Lurline was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, County Extension and Farm Bureau Women, past 4-H leader, past County Homemaker of the Year, 50 year member of Eastern Star, and Red Oak Monday Club member. Lurline loved music. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert Stille on March 22, 1996, a son Lloyd Stille; two sisters: Betty Soletski and Bernice Harris, one grandson and one great grandson in infancy. She is survived by her children: Kathryn Marsh and her husband Richard of Stanton, Iowa; Morris Stille and wife Vivian of Wheatland, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters: Zella Menzies of Springfield, Missouri; Virginia Antonio of Kansas City, Missouri; and Alberta Humbyrd of Midland, Michigan. Funeral services for Vada Lurline Stille will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 31, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak, with Rev. Nancy Schultz, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4-6 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
