Birthplace: rural Elliott, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Lucile D. Oster, age 84, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Lucile Devota Oster was born January 16, 1922 on the family farm near Elliott, Iowa the daughter of Herbert and Emma (Reed) Vannordstrand. Lucile was raised on the family farm and graduated from Elliott High School in 1939. Lucile was united in marriage to Everett Oster on February 26, 1946 in the home where she was born. Lucile and Everett farmed and lived all of their lives on the Vannordstrand family farm until moving to the Stanton Care Center in November of 2003. Everett preceded Lucile in death on May 16, 2004. Lucile was a long time member of the Elliott Church of Christ where she taught pre-school Sunday School and was Sunday School Superintendent. She was a member of the Worthwhile Club and was known for her historical knowledge of the Elliott Community. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two brothers: Vertice and Ross; and a grandson: Adrian Redinger. Survivors include her children: Eileen Redinger and husband Randy of Lake Mills, Iowa; Evan Oster and wife JoAnn of West Des Moines, Iowa; and Edward Oster and wife Donna of Stanton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren: EuGenie Maybanks and husband Nick of Iowa City, Iowa; Elizabeth Kinsinger and husband Tim of San Antonio, Texas; Chris Van Meeteren and wife Kara of Hull, Iowa; Amy Rodriguez of Des Moines, Iowa; Shaun Van Meeteren and wife Deanna of Urbandale, Iowa; Aaron Redinger and wife Shanan of Hanlantown, Iowa; Eric Redinger and wife Jennifer of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Graham Redinger of Warrensburg, Missouri; and Lucas, Emily, and Ellen Oster, all of Stanton, Iowa; 11 great grandchildren: Sydney and Claudia Kinsinger; Kaylee and Whitney Anderson; Jace Van Meeteren; Damon and Dante Rodriguez; and Samuel, Isabel, Brennan, and Peyton Redinger; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the Elliott Church of Christ in Elliott, Iowa. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery in rural Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the Elliott Church of Christ. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
